“ Kent’s best kept secret. Beyond having the best coffee/small bites/service in whitstable, Alleyway is beautifully decorated and every detail is thoughtfully done. Not only is the couple who run it kind and lovely, but they have wonderful taste and truly poured their hearts into this space. You step from a random alleyway in a residential area into…a charming cafe in France. The music, decor, plants and entire atmosphere are so charming and done with such care and expertise. There’s a community feel but you’re given your space to relax, it’s dog friendly but not loaded with dogs, and while welcoming to all, it seems to be just out of reach of the DFL crowd on Saturdays. I can’t praise everything about this space more highly. ”
“ Can't believe this place! It's phenomenal. My friend showed me on the 21st August 2025. We had a coffee. When you find it, it's unasuming. Nothing fancy. You walk into a covered outside are with chairs, tables and a sofa. Surrounded by beautiful plants well looked after. You then walk into a tiny bar area and it reminded me of a bar in Havana 1960's. Beautifully decorated in dark greens, quirky cool furniture and wood pannelled walls filled with art and plants. You are greeted by Seth and Megan, and uber-cool couple with huge smiles and make you feel so welcome. There is a covered glass box full of gorgeous artisan sweet/savoury small bites. They take your order and pay upon departure. Seth dropped off our drinks and stop to chat. The very next evening I took another friend and my partner for wine, beer and Olives. Great wines. The olives were so tasty and then there were the sausage rolls. Home made and delicious! I want this place to thrive and be a huge success but I also don't want to share as it's so unique and by far my new favourite hidden gem in Whitstable. You won't find it if you don't know the area :-) Thanks Seth and Megan, see you Friday. ”
“ I accidentally came across this Hidden Gem when my dog pulled me inside. He can obviously read as the Sign says 'dogs welcome', so in he went. What a lovely surprise it was. It is most welcoming and so pretty, a lovely place to have coffee /pastries and lunch. Lovely friendly owners. I would love to keep it my little secret , but its too nice a place not to share. I will happily drive from Canterbury to visit here. Definitely 5*s from me. Good luck to you both with this new venture. My new place to chill out :) ”

“ Lovely owners and nice vibes in the cafe! We had a breakfast there with nice salad and coffee! The coffee was really tasty and the baked goods were great as well. Toilet was really nice and attention to detail from the owners from the atmosphere to their baked goods were great! We really enjoyed it :)! The only small negative was the high price. I thought as a breakfast it could have been a bit cheaper so that we could have come back again :( ”
